The OGS Story

Founded in 2006, Operation Glass Slipper is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing prom gowns and accessories at no charge to high school girls throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin who would otherwise be unable to attend prom due to difficult financial or family circumstances. At our annual Princess Event in mid-March, over 1,000 girls are outfitted for prom with the help of hundreds of volunteer Fairy Godmothers.

Pam started Operation Glass Slipper after she read an article about people donating prom items to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Her daughter, Emily, and Kay quickly joined her on her mission to also make prom accessible for students in the Twin Cities! Since then, Operation Glass Slipper has continued to grow and help thousands of high school students.

I am looking to donate my old prom dresses and I am wondering if you would take them even if they are from 2004 and 2005?

Thank you,

Do you have this organization in any other city? I have donated to your project when I lived in Chicago. I’m in Nashville now and would love to start a chapter here.

I look forward to speaking with you,

I am requesting a donation receipt for a box of dresses recently sent to you. I made two attempts to the email address on your website – – but it was returned due to “The e-mail message could not be delivered because the user’s mailfolder is full.”

Please respond.
Thank you

Do you accept wedding dresses as well? Or know someplace that does?

September 3, 2015 at 8:51 pm

Hi there-I would like to donate my wedding dress, but I am unclear if your organization would be a good fit. It looks like you are mostly focused on prom, but it say you also sell wedding dresses at your event. Are these dresses usually sold or should I donate my wedding dress to a more wedding dress focused organization? Your program is so cool!

I live in St Cloud far from a donation site. May I mail a dress to the St Paul donation site? Thanks!

We donated some prom dresses to you and would like to claim them as a donation on our taxes. To do that, however, we need a tax ID number. Can you supply us with one?

Just wondering if you ever have any use for undergarments. I have a corset/bra that cost $110 that I wore once at my wedding and never again. It’s a size B cup size and probably for a girl whose about a size 2 or 4. It’s made for low-back dresses. Just let me know. Thanks!

I tried emailing you about a donation slip for a wedding dress I dropped off for my daughter, Kate Davis, at the Saint Paul location. The address is incorrect in the web site.

I just have a few questions about the tax receipts that we can get after we
make our donation. I was going to drop off the dresses at Weddings by Tess
next week sometime. Now all I have to do is email this email address and l
et you know that I would like a tax receipt for my donation. Is there a wait
time for this receipt? Do you put the value of the dresses on the receipt
or is that something I do?

Thanks for in advance for the answers to my questions.

I tried emailing the given email address, however it would not send and said, “The e-mail message could not be delivered because the user’s mailfolder is full.” I would like to volunteer at your organization, could someone email me what further is needed to do so!

Thank you!

Hello! I have a prom dress and a couple bridesmaids dresses to donate. Do you take any that are in need of repair? As I do not live near the cities, do you accept donations via UPS, FedEx or USPS?

Hi Janet! Yes we take items in need of repair. We do accept donations via mail. You can send to 3295 80th St E, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076.
